Allergies :-(

I've always had allergies around this time of the year but they have never been this bad. I am sneezing non stop, my eyes are watery, i have a headache and my throat is sore and i am coughing... I need this to stop NOW!!! I can hardly sleep and even left work early yesterday. Monday, I went to see a doctor and since I am pregnant, he can only give me certain medication. I am taking whatever he prescribed but it doesn't seem to help at all... blah... I am miserable...

People have been strange. The nurse that took me in on monday when i went to see the doc asked me how much i weighed. Well, I told him that i wasn't sure and it changes almost every day. So i stepped on the lovely scale and ugh...i am gaining weight... he asks me a bunch of other questions, including when my last menstrual period was and i tell him (the only reason i know exactly when it was is because i am pregnant) and he was all surprised that i knew. I look at him and i tell him "well i'm pregnant, i need to know" he seemed all surprised. WTH??? Do i still just look chubby? Screw this dude.

Yesterday at work, a client walks in and looks at me, first thing he says is "you have gained some weight!"
NICE people out there. I can't believe it. He didn't know that I am pregnant but come on, that's nothing you tell a woman, no matter if she is pregnant or not.
i have to admit though, i looked kind of bigger than usually, no idea why but maybe my head is all swollen from the allergies LOL

just had to vent, now i feel fat, but i can't stop eating ;-)

Almost in my 3rd Trimester

I can't believe how time has flown by in the last few weeks. Only 32 more days until kevin is back home and then shortly after that our baby will be here.
I took some pictures this morning and i have to say, I am shocked... i had no idea how big i have gotten. i always look at my belly from the front or down on it and it never really looked that big. craaaaaaazyyyyy ;-)
our little princess is moving around like crazy, my belly is wiggling around and i have body parts sticking out. it is pretty fun to watch. i can't wait to meet her!!!
we are still trying to decide on a name and i think it will take a loooong time until we find the perfect name ;-)
It's finally getting warm and hopefully staying warm outside. I guess I will go and maybe try to find a bathing suit this weekend. can't wear my old ones any more. Trying to decided weather to buy a tankini or just stick with a regular 2-piece. NO IDEA... if i knew i wasn't going to get any stretchmarks i would definately just go with the 2 piece =]

Meeting lauren and one of her friends for dinner at the Melting Pot tonight. I've never been there but i can just imagine how delicious it's gonna be. and guess what?!? i can pig out because i'm pregnant LOL

I have to get back to work now...

have a great day ;-*

Your BabyDeep breath! Air sacks are developing in your baby's lungs, which means it just might be possible for your baby to take a breath at the end of this week. The air sacks (technically called alveoli) will continue to grow for the next nine years. The membrane that keeps the alveoli separate from the blood vessels is now thin enough to allow for that oxygen–carbon dioxide exchange we call breathing. Other highlights this week:The retina completes the development of its normal layers this week—all the better to see you with. Well not you, per se, because her eyes are still sealed shut and it's really dark in there, but your baby's eyes are now fully developed. Brainwaves for the auditory and visual systems are detectable in baby's noggin this week. That means baby's brain is registering things like sound and light. She can't understand what any of it means yet, but she's on track to comprehend an entire episode of Blue's Clues in no time!As hearing continues to develop, your baby will start to recognize your voice. One hint that your karaoke rendition of "Bohemian Rhapsody" is not the best would be when the baby starts banging on your gut. Your bambino will also start to recognize your partner's voice. He may feel silly talking to your stomach, but assure him that somebody other than you is definitely listening. Research has shown that newborns actually recognize familiar sounds after birth. Proof that your baby has been paying attention all along.Break out the sparkling apple juice—baby has now completed two-thirds of her stay in Hotel Womb. Your baby is about 1 2/3 pounds and is 14 inches long head-to-heel, or about the length of a burp cloth (otherwise known as your primary wardrobe accessory for the next several months).

Your Baby
Get ready for pat-a-cake! Baby's hands are now fully developed and he spends most of his awake time groping around in the darkness of your uterus. Brain and nerve endings are developed enough now so that your baby can feel the sensation of touch. That doesn't mean he can feel it when his father pokes your stomach, however, so tell him to knock it off. Other highlights include:

Your baby's arms and legs have grown to almost the proportions they will be at birth, which is still sort of short. So don't be alarmed when your newborn's arms barely clear his waist. Baby's nostrils, which have been plugged up until now, clear out (like he's taken a super-dose of Sudafed) and he can practice breathing through the nose. The structures of your baby's spine are now made up of 150 joints, 33 rings and some 1,000 ligaments. Can you believe you're growing something that complicated inside of you?

The capillaries, the teeniest blood vessels, are now forming in your baby's body, giving his formerly translucent skin a pink glow. The blood vessels in the lungs also develop this week. You'll see how well that worked out when your baby gives those lungs a workout while you're on line at the bank in a few months.

Your baby weighs about a pound and a half and is about 13½ inches long—roughly the length of one of those recorders you played in elementary school music class. Who's up for a round of "Hot Cross Buns?"

Babyshower

I had my baby shower yesterday and it was soooo nice. I am very fortunate to have many great friends that are there for me and came to share this day with me. Unfortunately not everybody could make it to the shower but it was still very very nice. Thank you so much!!!
I got all kinds of goodies for the baby. LOVE the stroller/carseat, pack'n play and the swing. and of course the bouncer which is still on its way.
I also love all the other things i got from you guys. I am sure everything will come in very handy!
My friend Mia is here from New York right now and I don't have a ton of time to spend on here but i will make a slideshow wiith some pictures from yesterday and post them.
the weather is beautiful today and we will have to figure out what to do today...
kevin will be back in 50 days and we will still have to do some serious baby shopping when he comes back (bottles, diapers, wipes, .....)

And I am off into the sunny day now :-)

24 weeks

Ok, i've been slacking... kept putting it off to post on here and missed last week... oh well, we are at week 24 now. only 16 more weeks (or maybe less) until our little baby girl arrives :)

How your baby's growing:
Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.
